Hi everyone,
I've been a fan of Rush Magazine for a while now and I love it to pieces. However, one thing that doesn't sit well with me is the fact that the Rush boys have attacked Ricky Martin's masculinity on a number of occasions through depictions of him as a sort of poster boy for homosexuality. There's nothing wrong with being a homo, but the man has never confirmed or denied anything in that respect, and I think it's unfair to lump him into any category based on whims alone.
The fact that he's remarkably handsome and has a ridiculously appealing set of buns is no reason to jump to conclusions. He has a look and swagger that endears him to both men and women alike. That hardly precludes him from being accepted entry into the ranks of heterosexuals. I'm man enough to admit that I'd be very much attracted to him if I were a female or a homosexual, and I'm sure that most Rush readers are men enough to do the same.
What say you, fellow Rush people? Who will join me in defending Ricky Martin's heterosexuality? Who will admit that they've also had perfectly natural passing fantasies about the guy and briefly considered putting in requests for a Rush pictorial with him as the subject? Deep down, we all know that we've done this, and it's time to be men and admit it.
At the very least, let's make it known to the Rush people that Ricky is certainly not a homo! Who's with me?

Well, I am very much chagrined. I tried to defend Ricky and his delicious bum from being prematurely and unjustly compartmentalized into the homo department and I have not managed to get a single person to side with me (up to this point). Not only that, I have been accused of being a flamer myself, which is untrue and unfair. I can't say that this doesn't hurt, but I'm willing to accept defeat graciously and move on. I can't squeeze blood out of a stone.
Let's put aside our differences and forget all about it. NSync is coming to Toronto, Canada for a pair of concerts on November 14th and 16th. I think it would be a wonderful, innocent, clean-cut, heterosexual night out if some of us were to get together on one of these nights and make it a Rush event. The shows are long since sold out, but I think we can snag some tickets for a reasonable price. Who's with me?

Any man that has that much appeal to women and is not bedding 5 at a time must be gay. But, how about something people haven't considered. Maybe he's just a nice guy who didn't fall into a power trip? I know that's pretty hard to imagine for anyone in show biz, but maybe it's possible. I saw an interview with him and he seemed pretty down to earth.
Oh, and being a sex symbol for straight women and gay men helps sell records so that's a definite angle too...

He may or may not be gay, I don't care really. He's a public figure and is thus open to any and all bashing we want to do. He makes millions of dollars for what is essentially a very simple thing to do. He's not an athlete who needs extreme prowess to succeed in his field. Many of his songs are written for him, and his backing band is made of extremely tight professional musicians. He can sing alright, but nothing special. There are people with voices as good as his at any local junior college. So, all he has to do is look pretty, keep the weight off and shake his hips. Granted he looks queer as a 3 dollar bill, but who REALLY knows? Only him and the confused young men that he lures into bed with him. He's payed exorbitant amounts when compared to teachers and doctors who do things that actually help people in this world, so one of the downsides of his otherwise cushy job is that he gets to be a punching bag sometimes. And don't even start with how demanding touring is and all that. The production people and roadies who work just as hard as he does (usually harder. They're there before he shows up and after he leaves.) and don't get payed even 1/10 of what he makes.

I'm doing my thesis on Ricky. Yes, he IS gay, and has been since his childhood in Germany. Don't let his latino style confuse you, he's German. He was persecuted by the NAZIs for being homosexual in the period of 1942-1945. He considers this the worst period in his life, but a period in which he wrote many classics, including "She Bangs." He was released by a Jew wearing a German uniform for purposes of warmth. This Jew went on to become Woody Allen. Ricky Martin may or may not be a homo. However, since I'm a heterosexual guy, it really doesn't make much difference to me.
Even were I gay, Ricky Martin still does nothing for me. Oscar De La Hoya, however, is not bad looking, as guys go...

4. never seen in public with women-EVER
5. Ricky hasnt been caught exposing himself in a Beverly Hills park-YET
6. he isnt a giant asshole like most burnout pop stars
