Heya,
I'm wondering if anyone here can help me out with this query. There was a video that received airplay about a year ago in which a yellow puppet goofs around in an office, scratching a record every once in a while to a beat. I liked the song in a big way, but I can't for the life of me remember its name. The reason that I ask here is that I seem to remember a picture of that yellow puppet being displayed on one of the Rush music/MP3 articles or sections a few months back. Can anyone help me out here?

The name of the little yellow puppet is "Flat Eric." He was the Levi's Europe advertising campaign a few years back. In fact, I have one of the limited edition dolls of his sitting right above my computer... right, Chris? :P
More importantly, the name of the song is Flat Beat, by Mr. Oizo.
To save yourself from searching Napster, I've uploaded a good quality version to Rush.

Alright folks, I'm looking for the artist and title of a particular rap song...
All I can remember from it is that there's a chorus of a bunch of guys repeatedly chanting, "BAAAADOOOOW!"
It was popular about a year ago.
Any clues?

I gotta clue, do you? It probably sucked. [/s8n]
i'll check with one of my friends... they should know the song. Hang tight, and I'll get back to you on this.
Yeah i do remember it on the Fresh prince once.

Currently, there is nothing worse than having that particular song come up on the radio alarm first thing in the morning. The song bugs me and it ends up stuck in my head all day.
Ok, maybe there is one song that's worse on the radio... "My Sacrifice" by Creed. ugh.
Unfortunately, this is the only radio station that gets clear enough reception in my apartment on my alarm clock. I can't use the buzzer because it gives me a freaking heart attack.
I guess I am stuck with hearing "Nah Nah Nah" and "I'm Freeeeeeeeeeee" in the mornings until they finally get shoved off the Top 40 list.

A website that details exactly how Creed licks ass: here (http://whatever-dude.com/posts/149.shtml). I've posted this before, but I feel I can never post it too many times. I would say Scott Stapf (lead singer guy, sp?) is a tool, but that's derogatory against Tool.

kitty I couldn't agree with you more. They are an abomination. What upsets me even more is that there are more bands coming out with the same style. Nickelback, Staind, Default, POD, and Puddle of Mudd should all be banned from the airwaves. They are steaming piles of musical waste, and I use the term "musical" in the loosest way possible.

Scott Stapf=wannabe Eddie Vedder.
Earlier this year me and my buds had a road trip through the states (LA-NYC) and we listened to the radio all the way. All the tunes on the radios' A-list is getting popular around these parts now - D'OH!
I guess some of them are half-decent, but still; if you hear them enough you'll get pretty sick and tired eventually.
Creed - My Sacrifice
Nickleback - You Remind Me
Pink - Get This Party Started
Alica Keys - What a Woman Want
Mary J. Blige - [can't remember title]
Linkin Park - In The End
J.Lo - Ain't It Funny (Remix)
Usher - [can't remember title]
No Doubt - Hey Baby
Nelly F - Turn Off The Light (Remix)
N'Sync - Girlfriend
Shakira - Whenever Wherever
I can't believe I remembered all of those.

Staying local, eh? Damn, haven't been listening to Pantera for quite a while, but I've got their three first records (starting from Cowboys from Hell). The other day I saw Phil Anselmo on the cover of some metal magazine - and he's got long hair! hehehe...damn. He looked like that Wayne Staley (sp?) dude from Alice In Chains. The mofo's in Pantera are responsible for my tinnitus! Those kids and their loud music
what about that song on that comerical with the two blond chicks promoting some moose or some gay hair product?

sorry, it really was a stupid joke. you're allowed one kick in the shin.
If you could tell us a bit more about the commercial, I may be of some use.
well i think the hair product is called "Blonde"...
and there's these two blond sisters (i think) dancing and shaking they're white asses and tits.
It's on quite frequently.. I'll have to pay more attention to the lyrics when it comes on again..
Ass and tits, it's what's for dinner.
I'm not even sure if I like the song so far, all I ever hear it the catchy chorus before it's over. I've missed the title of the song when they play it on the radio a record number of times(Hah, a pun! Ah... never mind).
It's just that bloody song that goes something like "I like you, baby, I like you. Yeah I like, yeah I like, yeah I like you"
Does this ring a bell for anyone? The lyrics are too vague for me to find on the net.

There's a new song on kiss 969 in Calgary our new hip hop station. (you can listen on the internet from anywhere, kiss969.com)
The song starts with some guy singing "call me" then in the middle there's some rapping, it's kinda a slow song though. Anyone know what it is?
I've found that the WWE often has some pretty good music featured. For thier SummerSlam PPV this month there's a sweet tune that goes with the preview but I have no idea what it is. I caught the lyrics "I've seen your every move, I've heard your every word, I know you well...."

Okay, here's one that I'm trying to figure out, it's goingto be very vague, so bear with me... I was at a Lacrosse game the other day (yes, Lacrosse - the Toronto Rock vs The Albany Attack in case anyone else was there) and they started playing a song that started out with a kinda twangy, country-ish guitar riff, but then kicked into a pretty funky dance tune. I'm generally not a big dance music listener (unless, of course, I'm wanting to dance), so I'd never heard it before, and may never come across it again. I was wondering if this song sounds familliar to anyone - maybe I can get a few ideas, and I'll d/l them to see if they're the one I heard.

In the song by Tenacious D - Tribute, they sing the supposed "Best song in the world" to fight the demon. The lyrics go like this "Look into my eyes and it's easy to see, one and one make two, two and one make three, it was destiny" and such and such.
Is this a real song? If so, what song?

If you are paying attention to the song then you would know that anything they were singing was not the greatest song. Its just typical jack black making up dramatic lyrics. He is rather good at that.

I'm trying to find the name of a song, and more specific the video for that song. I have no idea who did the song, all I can do is describe the video.
It was a techno or electronica song I believe. The video was simply a camera on the back of a train watching the scenery pass by. The cool thing about this video was very subtle though. As the scenery passed by, it would be not only in time with the song, but would be a "description" of the sound. If there was a heavy drum roll part of the song, it might mean that a picket fence was passing by the train.
That's not necessarily a specific example but I only saw the video once, a while ago so everything is a little vague. It was during one of those alternative video shows like 120 Minutes or something.
Does that sound familiar to anyone? I really want to track down that video.

Corsair9

why not? he's the guest mc.
they're an underground group from california. they've worked with cypress hill through alchemist, the producing protege of hill's DJ Muggs, and also with mobb deep thru this connection and many others in the industry.
theyre chapioned as keepers of the underground, with neighborhood watch being their third major label LP. they have a Roots-type following and as it were, are listed on okayplayer.com, the Roots' web site, as part of their network representing real hip hop.
they're rakaa, a big fat black guy. Evidence, a wop who cant rap but everyone in the underground thinks he can--once got into a lyrical trade-off with eminem who also produces, and asian DJ Babu of the beat junkies.
they're the most popular underground hip hop group, and this kanye west produced andd guest spotted single is their biggest hit yet, probably crossing them over.
over your head? still confused? they're a group that kanye getting to get a spot on rapping is as big an honor as them getting him to produce.

try this site (http://www.songtapper.com/s/tappingmain.bin)
This site lets you search for a song, by tapping the rhythm of its words (lyrics). Let's say you have a song stuck in your head, and you don't know the name of it. Never fear! Load up our search screen, and try tapping the rhythm of the song on your space bar while humming the tune. Tap the space bar for each syllable that you sing. It's that simple!
Funny the Beastie Boys got mentioned in the 'Musical Confessions' thread, I've been downloading a lot of their stuff lately.
Anyway, what's that song called where the video has the one band member abducted in a taxi, while another one attempts to save him?(And in the end, after being saved the driver picks up the third member.)
I can hear the beat in my head but I can't think of any lyrics so I can't do much of a search for it.

naw it was in commercials for a month or two before the super bowl. they didn't play the commercial during the super bowl, but the network used the song during the actual game a couple times.
here's the one I'm talking about. (http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/budselect/crown_connection_chandelier_600k.wvx)

I re-downloaded all the ween songs like like but one just baffles me. I tried downloading ZOLOFT and when I d/l it gives me a totally different song. I jotted down some of the lyrics...its actually a cool song I just want to know who it is! thanks to whoever knows this..i tried to google already
can...take us to your western sky
cause no matter how hard we try
we never leave
can...while your sleeping cross the sea
we beg of you dont forget these....
words to help you breathe
and the snow
though it falls
it never falls hard...
enough

which basically entails searching through a can/bottle of beer until he comes up with something.
my searches usually tend to lead me looking through excess cans/bottles to validate my results.

This is going to sound very vague, but I thought somebody could point me in the right direction. I am trying to track down a song from the late 90s or early 2000s (I think it was early 2000s since I was probably out of high school). The band had a video that was on MTV a lot (might have been on TRL). The best description I can think of is; the band was playing in what appeared to be an abandoned warehouse and it would cut between that and a guy walking down the street (you couldn't see his face) and the camera was shaking when following the guy down the street. Almost like the music was making it shake. I don't have a band name or song title. This is probably the worst description ever.:bling:

I agree with milkman. It was a hard rock song (they didn't scream or anything it was just heavier guitars.) I think they might have been a christian band and no one knew it at the time. It was a 3 or 4 piece band (don't remember seeing a bass player in the video). There was the leader singer/guitarist. A second guitarist who was asian and a drummer.
I think they might have been a christian band and no one knew it at the time.

Im at my wits end here. I knew I should have jotted down the lyrics of this song but instead I tried to record it on my phone as a voice memo. Well it didnt come out too clear so I will do my best to translate.
The song isnt too old...maybe a couple of years
its a mellow song. in the background while he is singing is sting instruments..maybe some sort of violin? and its a repeated pattern
some of the lyrics I recorded are
"but if we go in blah my blah"
I will try to listen again to come up with more
