I just tried out the program and it was exactly the same as my MusicCity's Morpheus.

What a small world.

Am I the only person using WinMX? I find it to be a great and efficient program, and very easy to use.

I've been in the mp3 scene (meaning: been active in ripping vinyl/cd's + upping them to various places on the net) for 3 yrs now, and the best combined search-engine/downloading tool I know of when it comes to music, is AudioGalaxy. If you're looking for a particular tune and you can't find anyone online who has it, it still shows you a list of results and download it whenever a user is online; kind of a queing system and pretty cool :)

I use Kaaza to find porn.

I tried it once; for some reason I couldn't connect and just stared at a black screen all day. But I'll try running it again, I can't find any viet music with Morpheus.
It's just not the same!!! I miss Napster.

Whatever happen to Scour anywayz?

I'm currently running a mix of LimeWire (Gnutella network), KaZaA, and Hotline. For those not familiar with hotline, the client is at bigredh.com and a few search engines are hotlinehq.com and hlsearch.com. Kinda like the old BBS scene, people put up their systems as servers. If you find a good one, it's cool. Most just make you upload something first. Others are a pain in the ass and make you jump through hoops. However, if you find a good one, the speed rules and you don't have to worry about people shutting down their 'puters.

Works like a fucking charm for me too bud. If you want lots of porn, just goto a bloody newsgroup. Don't waste time downloading it from another person.

Scour was slammed with lawsuits, and eventually filed for bankruptcy (sp?).

I have too many firewall problems with Kazaa... so I went back to Lamewire, which works well enough for me.

Sometimes, I even go out and buy a CD!! Can you believe it?

Truth is, for things like jazz or anything that's not on MTV, it's too hard to find online, so I pony up for the goods. Too bad so many of the musicians I support are dead.

I know Morpheus brings Kazaa up, but are they running the same backend network? Like if you specifically brought up Morpheus and Kazaa, would they be searching the same pool of stuff?

Last CD I bought was 3 months ago or so Depeche Mode - "Singles 86-98". Great double CD BTW. I get a little tired sometimes of getting low quality rips from other people online. It seems that most of the stuff on Kazaa is 128kbps or lower. Napster had more people with higher quality rips. Anyone else notice that?

Anyway, I figure if there are enough great songs on the CD, I will buy it.
